Our hourly rates and what is and is not included in our fees. We follow the SRA transparency rules, with no hidden charges.

Our approach

Fair, reasonable and competitivewith no hidden charges

We abide by the transparency rules of the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Our pricing information is here so you can make an informed decision when buying legal services.

At the time of initial instruction we explain how we calculate the quoted price, and we provide a detailed breakdown of estimated total costs where possible, whether for our fee or for disbursements.

VAT

20%

VAT is chargeable on all of our fees at 20%.

Hourly rates

Our rates by fee earner

Our professional fee depends on the seniority of the solicitor, or is agreed on a fixed-fee basis. Rates follow the Law Society's guideline hourly rates and do not include VAT.

    £512per hour + VAT

  2. B

    Solicitors and legal executives with over 4 years' experience

    £348per hour + VAT

  3. C

    Other solicitors or legal executives and fee earners of equivalent experience

    £270per hour + VAT

  4. D

    Trainee solicitors, paralegals and other fee earners

    £186per hour + VAT

Included in our professional fee

  • Listening carefully and taking initial instructions
  • Advising on your options, likely outcome, estimated cost and next steps
  • Providing a list of the documents you need to supply, and checking them
  • Preparing and submitting your application to the Home Office
  • Preparing court bundles, grounds, statements of case and skeleton arguments
  • Briefing counsel and representing you at court or tribunal hearings
  • Communicating on your behalf with the Home Office, courts and tribunals
  • Advising on the prospect of any subsequent challenge

Not included in our fee

  • Third-party charges such as Home Office, court, tribunal and Judicial Review court fees
  • Barristers or experts
  • Any other professional disbursements made on your behalf
  • Subsequent challenges (appeal, pre-action protocol or judicial review)
  • Interpreter fees, which are quoted by the third party

The small print

  • Quoted prices exclude VAT, disbursements and any subsequent challenges, as they vary with the complexity of the case, the number of applicants, urgency and the quantity of supporting documents.
  • In some circumstances the anticipated costs may exceed the quoted range. A breakdown of estimated costs, for our own fees and any third party, is provided in our Client Care Letter.
  • How long a Home Office application takes depends on the volume of evidence, missing documents, any language barrier and whether you apply with dependants. The timing of the Home Office decision is outside our control.
  • The information on this website does not constitute legal advice or form a binding contract between Capital One Solicitors and you unless agreed between the parties.
